Ordinary Maintenance
Ordinary maintenance is certainly the most important intervention for instruments, as in addition to extending their lifespan, it restores their original sound, reliability, and stability.
It should be carried out regardless of the general condition of the instrument, and we recommend scheduling it at regular intervals, depending on the type of use.
The purpose of this intervention is to restore the instrument as closely as possible to its original condition, trying not to replace anything that is not strictly necessary, in order to maintain its characteristics and reliability.
From experience, we can say that most of our customers who carry out maintenance at regular intervals find their instrument, even after decades of use, with the same initial reliability and in full working order.
Assessment and estimate upon delivery.
The intervention has a flexible duration but requires several hours of work.
It usually includes:
- cleaning with deoxidation of body, head, foot
- cleaning without deoxidation of the mechanism
- reassembly of the mechanism with locking and lubrication of the internal rods
- lubrication of pivot screws and through screws
- checking and balancing of the padding with complete adjustment
- our final testing
At the time of preparing the estimate, optional operations can be added or those deemed unnecessary can be removed.
In the case of part replacement, we prefer to use original parts, when supplied by the manufacturers. In the case of pad replacement, it is possible to reconstruct the originals or replace them with similar pads rather than with parts that do not have the same performance.
For this type of intervention, we keep the instrument for one week (from Tuesday to Tuesday) in order to carry out all operations and perform the final testing.
We are available, upon request, for customization of the final adjustment.
It is preferable to deliver, and especially to collect, in person in order to carry out the final verification test.
If it is not possible to deliver/collect in person, you can use your trusted courier. We prepare the instrument with box and packaging but we do NOT arrange the shipment.
