What often keeps us from having work done on the instrument are the costs.
The flute is not an excessively complicated instrument; from its conception at the end of the 19th century to today, it has not changed much. What has changed over time is the refinement of its construction and the quality of the materials. Each handmade flute has a unique precision given by its maker (today even industrial flutes have reached high levels, but the difference is still evident). To put the instrument in optimal condition, the technician needs to know the process of making the instrument and to be able to interpret what the craftsman intended to achieve. This requires skill and a lot, a lot, a lot of experience. The cost of a repair includes not only the value of the time spent solving the problem but also the expertise, training, and experience that have enabled us to resolve the situation... perhaps even quickly!
Before starting, we are available to determine the costs of each intervention, but precisely because of the specificity of each job, we need to have the instrument in our hands.
